I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Yes. Its. True. I'm dreaming and hoping that it'll be white here... I mean I have about a 1 in 1 million chance right?

How are you?? Fam I'm so excited to Skype with you this week!! Can you believe its almost Christmas? cause I cant... Its true mom. Christmas is all year round here in the mission! But I really do love it. And honestly thank you to everyone for all your support! It wouldn't be the same without you guys!

AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY YESTERDAY. We had a missionary chorus just for you!.
Like 20 or 30 missionaries... I hope you heard us! haha we had an activity yesterday and all the missionaries in the area sang! Oh poder! It was awesome!

We had intercambios this week and I went 3 hours away to Esperanza with Hermana MoƱtano. She is so so great. I learned so much! Whoever said that Honduras is only hot hot and hotter clearly has never been to Esperanza... it was freezing (literally below freezing)! But it was only for one night and I brought every single jacket that I own. But on the up side I had my first warm shower... with actual running water. Like from the shower head. Oh the blessings!

I experienced my first real Hondurian rain storm. Well. If that's not swimming I don't know what is apparently!

On Saturday we had our first Baptism. Our prayers were answered and everything went smoothly and according to plan. His name is Nahum and he is 13. After when he bore his testimony he just beamed. Yep. This is why I am here in Honduras. you can only get that kind of happiness thought the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I am so lucky to have the opportunity to share it down here. The spirit here in the mission is just amazing and everyday I see the Lords hand in my life. I feel your guys prayers everyday and I pray for all of you just the same.

I hope you have A MERRY CHRISTMAS!! (I hope you get my picture:) Love you all more than you know!!

2 Months!!

Oph man. 2 months in! Can you believe it? Im going to blink an eye and Im going to be half way. AH! ANYWAY! How are you guys! I love you all and think of you everyday and all the good times that we had! The weeks seem like they are getting shorter and shorter here... its crazy!

We celebrated Chrsitmas this week as a mission. There are about 200 missionaries so its was split into the outer areas and the areas in the city. Since I am in Comayagua... in the outer areas we had ours last Tuesday and it was so so great!!! We had gift exchanges and I finally got to see HE IS THE GIFT video. If you havent yet seen it go onto the Chursch website, watch it, and share it! It is sooo good! Keep in mind the real spirit of Christmas this season! The activity was so fun and at the very end... wait for it... we got to watch FROZEN!!! Oh bendicion! But let me tell you its even funnier when youre witha  whole bunch of Elders who havent seen it yet. theyre sitting there trying to predict the whole movie... like it was brand new. but it was so great!

We have been teaching a lot more lessons instead of just contacting this week. WE are starting to have progressing investigators and everything! We have two baptism set up for right now but we will see if they carry though. We are hoping that all goes well with both!

I´m sorry this isnt very long but everything here in Comayagua is great. People are starting to laugh at my bright pink face (yes mom I wear sunscreen) and my spotted mosquito bitten legs (yes dad I have my 40% deet). But Ilove it here!

I know this church brings us so much happiness in our lives. I have seen it in my life and even just being here for a short amount of time I have seen in the eyes of my investigators. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. Like my investigator Rodolfo says... This book is perfect. Yes it is. Completely perfect! Im so greatful to be apart of this work.

Love you all.

Week 2!!

!ow this week went by in a flash!! So many miracles this week oh my goodness!! But to start of with Here in comayagua is gorgeous. We are surrounded my mountains and it is so green! Its actually relatively chilly here. Ok... I get it, its not chilly  but every once in a while I have to pull out a jacket. I know right? We live in a house in the corner of our huge area and the inside is pure pink. Sometimes Im not sure If Im walking though candy land or into my house :)

No but in all seriousness answer to my preayers is my trainer Hna Rojas. Oh she is the best! En serio! There is never a dull moment with here... yes Oh how I miss Hna Reed but I seriously lucked out! she is so patient with me and my spanish... oph and heaven (and eeryone who can hear me) knows how much I need that! ha but I do love it here in Honduras and I know this is where I am supposed to be.

Chirstmas time is absolutely the perfect time to start a mission! Everyone is so happy and receptive and it really helps you keep in mind the true meaning of Chirstmas! Oh I love it! By the way... if you havent yet go onto chirstmas.mormon.org and watch the video that is on there! I have been told it is amazing and we have been promoting it to all of our investigators! One of the joys of opening an area is  that there are so many people who have not had the chance to hear the gospel... and then we come and swoop in. It is amazing how the Lord puts people in your path just for you to teach. We have our first Baptismal date onDecember 20!! His name is Nahum, he is 13 and his whole family is members but hes never been baptized and let me tell you he is so great. It is very different teaching someone that young but I love it! And soon he will be able to receive the blessings of baptism!!

I love it here and I love this gospel. I know that Chirst is my savior and redeemer and through him we can return to the presence of our Heavenly Father. This Gospel makes me so happy even though I am hundreds of miles away from you guys! Thank you for all of you support! Love you all!!

HONDURAS HONDURAS!

Hola familia!!! I made it!! Can you believe it_ Cause I barely can! Tons has happened in the the last two weeks! Well for you Thanksgiving! and Black Friday tambien! Of course I thought of you Lindsay and si with your promaster black Friday skills and daddy... I KNOW you got your deals and was probs first in like at Scheels! Aim you probs have a whole new wardrobe... haha jk hope you had a blast in DC or NY... sorry I forgot! But don't you dare move there just yet! And mamma... I KNOW you probs had the best thanksgiving dinner out there! Without a doubt! I miss your food :) I hope you all said hi to the family for me! Miss you all and I hope your Thanksgiving was awesome! Oh where did I have me thanksgiving dinner may you ask_ Oh in a cute little fast food franchise called Pollo Rico! Oh mmm... en serio though! but here I am getting ahead of myself! Oh my last week in the CCM! Oh how I will miss it... mostly the people! Oh me encanta! And the other 4 hermanas! Oh how I will miss them!! And Hermana Reed! Good thing shes here with me or I would be so sad! We left the CCM at 3 in the morning and came to Honduras! Took a quick little pit stop to el salvador (oh one more country I can say am I right?) Then we arrived in Tegulcigalpa! My companions name is Hermana Rojas she is from El Salvador and just darling! And we are in Comayagua... about 2 hours out of tegulcigalpa! We are opening the area!! QUE? Ah its so exciting... and there's a lot of trust in us! The area is huge but bonita tambien!

My first day here I saw Elder Hale!! (From Alta high) Oh how great it is to see familiar faces! Ah I'm so grateful that I am finally here! I've been waiting for this for what seems like FOREVER! since we are opening in area that means contacting contacting contacting! Out very first contact on my very first day was Hermano Hilario about 70 years old. He is so so great! He came to church with us Sunday which was awesome! Our first meeting with him he came up and gave me a hug... NO Soy misionera Soy misionera! So we are both learning together for sure!

Oh wow How much I have learned about trusting in the Lord. I have no clue what we are doing half the time and well... the other half we are lost in the city :) (Oh man how I have taken those Rocky Mountains for granted. I have no sense of direction haha :)

But yes I stick out like a sore thumb here. TRUST me I do... everyone just stares! Ha but when they do... ha contact. Hola! were missionaries... whats your name? Perfecto! Haha Do I understand what they say? Oh heavens no. But its a lot more fun if you make up conversations in your head. Every once in a while I pick up a word or two to form my story... the only problem is with that is that I think I laugh at the wrong times cause I get a lot of weird looks! Eh no matter!!

Anyway I love you I love you I love you!!
The book is blue and truer than true! I love this gospel and my testimony grows every day out here. Love you!!
