Hi Mom! Look I'm on TV!!

My dad always taught me that if things aren't working out.... you just gotta do something different. Being creative... brings success. And so creative we were!
So for the last few weeks we've been having an English class in the church. I mean maybe 10 people showed up if we were lucky... so we were getting a little bored of it to be honest. But about 2 weeks ago our convert fiel [faithful convert] told us that his dad would announce our English class on TV (they can both speak English almost perfect!) His dad has his own talk show... or so we heard, so we were like ok yeah, that would be awesome... he announced it and nothing really happened. But then we ran into the dad this last Monday. ....Hey what's up! When're you coming to my show??¨¨ haha oh sorry, hermano! How bout Friday? Did we know what we were getting ourselves into? Ha absolutely not! I mean, what harm could be done, am I right??

SO Friday comes and we (skip district meeting...oops) go over to the studio. It was actually legit. Whoa ok! This is good. The next thing we know Angel looked at us and was like... wow I'm a little nervous for you! Wait.... why? Is this big? (Little did we know... his dad is legitly famous.... this TV show reaches Comayagua... my old area... which explains all the calls in saying... saludos a Hermana Nelson! [hello to Hermana Nelson]).   haha anyway so next thing we know we're on camera just nervously laughing and just making jokes on air... people were calling in to have their name put down for the class and then they just wouldn't stop calling in! We cut if off at like 30 calls or like an hour later! Whoa! Sweet! Mire [Look].... we might have like 30 MAYBE even 40 people in our English class! Just imagine... what will we do with 40 people! haha oh how naive we were ;)

SO Saturday comes and we get a call from the Hermanas... Hermana you better get over here. There're people waiting outside. It was about 30 minutes before and there were about 30 people lining up outside waiting to get in! SWEET! Here's our 30! So we call the branch president and people just start filling in.... and filling in.... and then OVERfilling in. They couldn't even fit in the church! We were taking names and numbers like crazy people... roles were going around... splitting people into classes. So our 30 people vision.... turned into a 150 PERSON vision.(Just in comparison, I've never seen more than 107 people in church...) I think we might have given the branch president a heart attack. :) (Out of the 150 only like 2 were members) We had to separate into 3 different classes to teach 3 different levels and people were leaning in from the halls just to be in the class.

In the picture attached below.... this isn't even everyone... a lot of people had left. But at the end we made sure that they all knew that they are invited to church and they all promised to come back the next week. So we're going to be planning it well to have the members go in and contact this next week... or have a big reunion espiritual [spiritual meeting] after. It'll be good :) After all was said and done we all jut kinda looked at each other. And sat.} with HUGE EYES. WHOA. This is going to change things.... (no worries, our branch president was breathing by this point :) hahaha

Haha but people come up to US and contact US now! So we have HUGE VISIONS for Talanga. The members are offering their support now more than ever.

Training is going great! My darling Hija Hna Sequeira will be ending her training in 2 weeks.... Which means that it is most likely that me saca... I'm leaving! BUT At least I'll be leaving work for the next missionary to do :)

This Friday FELIPE GOT BAPTIZED!!!! It was such a miracle. Each baptism is such an experience but this one was super special. It all started a little stressful... like most do. There were NO baptismal clothing for him. We called every one and by mid afternoon I was talking on the phone with our dear Elder Walker. Elder... we don't have the clothes.... no one's going to be there... how is he going to be baptized.... and so forth. All I hear is... Hermana. Hermana HERMANA escúcheme [listen to me]. Have you said a prayer yet? Boom. Slap in the face. And I can testify that pray works. Right after we offered a prayer everything layed out just nicely. Elder Walker just looked at me at the baptism... and said, Looks like your prayer was answered. So my advice this week... when things aren't working out, think to yourself... Have I said a prayer yet? And I can promise you... things will work out :)

Yes thank you for all the reminders.... I'm on the downhill slant now with 9 months :) but we celebrated well... With my mommy and my hija :)

Just a normal day on a talk show :)

Today the top 10 list is...

Top 10 ways to hide from the Sister missionaries...

1 Give us the wrong address
2 Give us the telephone of your neighbor to play a prank on them
3 When we yell good afternoon in your door... The TV and music suddenly shut off
4 When we knock on your door... you tell us that no ones home
5 You sneak out the back door to avoid talking to us
6 You start spending a lot more time at your ^^friends houses^^
7 You send you kids out to tell us that you're not home and when we ask them when you are coming back from your errand they say next week. But wait... you just went to the market??
8 The phrase that says... ^^Mommy says that shes not home^^
9 Suddenly start sleeping when you see us walk by
.... And my personal favorite....... drum roll....
10 Hey is your mom home? Nope... she still hasn't come home. ok sounds good. 5 minutes later when were walking back down... the aunt walks by.... hey is your mom home? Yeah! Shes inside... Then the little 5 year old sees us... with panic in her eyes...  ^^no! no! Shes isn't home she isn't home!!^^

Hahaha sooo this week we will be finding more people :)

This Saturday Roger got baptized!!! It was the best day ever! I've never seen him happier then I did then... Before his baptism people passed by his house telling him that he was making the wrong decision and that he was foolish for choosing it. But he just looked at them and told them... No its cause I know the church is true. And today I get baptized in the true church. It was the best. Right after the ordinance his little boy started running up and down the isles cheering... woooo!!! haha it was darling!

And yesterday a miracle happened! Felipe told us that he knows the church is true! We have been working with him ever since my first Sunday here in Talanga. He is another friend of Nelson, angel and Jose! He told us that he ready to do what the Lord has sent him to do... And what might that be?What has the Lord sent you to do?.... Be baptized hermanas :) So he will be calling us tomorrow to tell us what day this week he wants to be baptized so his dad can be there and so that Nelson can baptize him before he moves to Tegucigalpa to work! But shhh Its a surprise :)

The church is true!
Love you all!!

My Fourth was better than your Fourth :)

Hi family!! HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!! I hope it was the best thing ever back at home!! As most of you know... this IS MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY! And I was thinking that the whole not being in the states thing would get in the way of the whole celebration process... or so I thought :) This whole week I have been slyly reminding the members and all of my investigators that the coming Saturday was SUPER SPECIAL! ( I mean most of them just look at me like I was crazy!) The 4th came and I know you guys were all watching the parades... all the hermanas here got decked out (you know... blue skirts... red shirt combo ;) My companion (she's so cute) was behind me the whole way making sure that we celebrated... so she put on her patriotic colors too :)

About half way through the day everyone started acting weird. The hermanas of the other rama [branch] started planning a noche de hogar en la casa de Nelson [a family home evening at Nelson's house]... with OUR members... OUR investigators and OUR converts. Wait whoa. What are you doing. But they played it off good! Hey are we invited?? ¨Hmmm Hna Nelson y Hna Sequeira... I'm not really sure.... Uhhh go ask her...¨¨

So we went through our day normal! Roger's still doing awesome!! Hasn't drank in almost 2 weeks.... ni tiene ganas a tomar!! [Nor does he have a desire to drink.] We finished all of our citas [appointments] and worked normal the whole day and at 7 we went over to the church cause it was ¨bring a friend to institute day¨(so conveniently we had to be there to meet all them as they went out...  the Young Single Adults never fail us haha) As we were leaving they all started asking us if we were planning on going to the Noche de Hogar at Nelson's house.... I mean I was really impressed. Wow! They all just got out of institute and now they want to go to ANOTHER spiritual hour. ¨They're on fire! So we were pumped. Ï mean maybe they haven't started yet... let's go!¨So they all hopped in Tia Georgi´s truck.... ¨NO esta bien. We wanted to walk anyway.... Catch up with you later. So we walked over in the rain... STILL CLUELESS. The whole thought of¨¨ Surprise Happy 4th of July cause it's your favorite holiday family home evening ¨¨¨never crossed my mind. SURPRISE!!!!! Everything was lit up!! balloons... conffei... flags. It was the best ever!!! So we had our spiritual noche de hogar 4th of July themed party :) (After it was over they even came and shot off fireworks outside our apartment!!) So I mean, thanks hermanas of the other branch and the young single adults.... we had the BEST 4th EVER!!!

This week has been soooo awesome! Roger will be baptized this Saturday and we have a new presidente de la mission!!!

Every day just gets better and better in the work of the Lord :)

I LOVE YOU ALL!

Hi fam!! Sorry I didnt write til now!! Just know that I am healthy weathy and wise!! We went up to a members terrane today and spent the whole day eating mangos and oranges and swinging and running. Honesly... can you say this is the life??

But awesome news!!! Roger stopped drinking!! We kind of made a pact with the Lord. He has been investigating for about 2 months now but he went back to drinking... We have been visiting him with members especially our leader missional and we have had so may spiritual experiences but the next day he falls back into it. We gave him two options. Caue there are only 2 paths. One gives us eternal life and joy and the other gives us far from happiness. It is sooo sad to see. On Tueday night we told the Lord that really we dont know if we can keep teaching him but if he stops drinking tomorrow then we know that he will be ready. We went back on Wednesday and he was in bad shape but he look at us and told us. I havent been able to sleep all day or night but I will not drink anymore. I need to change. And he hasnt had a drop of alcohol since. He hasnt slept for about a week and he hasnt left his house either but thats the only way that he can drop it. 2 people came by his house and offered him alchol but he said no! The Lord prepares people for us to teach and now we know that realamente.... he is ready to be baptized for the 11th :)

Love you all! The church is true :)
